Charging Up Cybersecurity: Cybersecurity in the Electric Vehicle Ecosystem

Webinar by itemis & INCYDE:

Prepare to unlock the complexity of automotive cybersecurity within the electric vehicle ecosystem, brought to you by INCYDE and itemis SECURE.

We start with Dirk Leopold, Global Head of Cybersecurity at itemis, laying the foundation with an in-depth look into automotive cybersecurity. Dirk delves into the basics of threat analysis and risk assessments, further elucidating their specific implications and adaptations for electric vehicles. This foundational knowledge sets the stage for a closer examination of the distinct aspects of electric vehicles, with an emphasis on the smart charging infrastructure

Professor Christoph Krauß, Head of Automotive Security Research at INCYDE, leads our exploration. As we draw our session to a close, we actively address the intricate challenges inherent to the charging infrastructure. This encompasses understanding its inherent complexity, exploring potential attack points, recognizing the critical role of the entire cybersecurity engineering process including TARAs and testing in this EV ecosystem, and emphasizing the importance of the secure exchange of security-relevant data.

In this webinar, you will learn:

  • The importance of automotive cybersecurity for electric vehicles, including threat analysis and risk assessments.

  • How to address the unique cybersecurity challenges of the smart charging infrastructure in electric vehicles.

  • The critical role of the cybersecurity engineering process, such as TARAs and testing, in securing the EV ecosystem.

  • The significance of secure data exchange for maintaining cybersecurity in electric vehicles.
